Similarities between USB flash drives and MP3 players
MP3 players like Apple's iPod, are basically fancy USB drives with the mechanisms control and significant value. Unlike USB flash drives, MP3 players have no more ability to share data files, DVD movies and photos easily.
USB flash drives are not only capable of easily sharing music, but you can transfer a file that can be stored on a PC at home faster that the use of CD-ROM.
MP3 Players need a separate program for your computer to download music or download existing tunes stored on the device. Sometimes these programs are memory intensive or poorly written, making the task of headaches, even more than worthwhile. Even Apple iPod capacity download songs from your device to a computer, due to copyright problems.
This is all well and good, until you want to put a song of a CD you bought and torn from his office computer to computer using the iPod as a transmission medium. In addition, you must download and install a proprietary program MP3 player for each team.
USB flash drives are different, they act like any other storage device used for your computer. Once the device connects a USB connector, the files stored on it becomes a new unit in the directory of your computer, files can be saved, deleted, move or change as any other file system. This makes sharing music between computers a breeze.
You Just load the disc with your favorite music and take it to another computer. Once the drive is connected, the music can be played directly from the USB drive or songs can be copied to a folder on your hard disk computer for later use. No mess, no fuss.
One of the advantages of having an MP3 player is the ability to connect to your stereo system the car to listen your music on the road. Car manufacturers increasingly build stereo USB into their products, however.
